Chairman & CEO
With 25 years of industry experience, Simeon is an authority on group health insurance for employers of all sizes. During the last fifteen years he has become a recognized expert in sales and distribution, product strategy, and operations, and has used these tools to lead a series of varied health insurance businesses to historical highs in market share, growth, and profitability. Simeon has done this on national, regional, and local scales, and across all sizes and funding arrangements.
Simeon joined Bloom Heath from Minnesota-based health plan Medica, where as Senior Vice President of Commercial Markets he launched the insurer’s defined contribution private insurance exchange—My Plan by Medica, powered by Bloom Health. Previous to Medica, Simeon spent nearly 15 years at UnitedHealth Group, including serving as President of Small Business for UnitedHealthcare and Senior Vice President, UnitedHealth Group. Simeon built his early career upon a foundation of financial and actuarial expertise, holding executive roles at MetraHealth and Travelers.
Simeon has a B.A. in Mathematics from Dartmouth College. He is a Boston Red Sox fan and when he’s not working he can be found exercising or spending time with his family.
Sales & Market Development
Kevin leads our sales and distribution efforts across all segments and markets.
Kevin brings unique skills to Bloom Health having led national sales and new business initiatives for several fortune 500 Companies. Most recently, Kevin developed and managed innovative and successful new business relationships as the Vice President of National Accounts at CIGNA HealthCare. Prior to CIGNA, Kevin was the Sales Director at Aetna in Chicago where he built and expanded its mid-size and large employer markets. Kevin has been recognized nationally for leading the country in sales for both companies.
Kevin has a B.S. in Finance & Accounting from Kansas State University. In his downtime, he manages a cattle ranch in Kansas and enjoys working out, golfing and spending time with his wife Suzanne, son Ty and daughter Chase.
Ron drives sales and distribution at Bloom Health, working with large and small employers, as well as brokers and consultants.
Ron has worked with clients developing effective benefit strategies and programs to deliver long-term employer goals for the last 20 years. Ron has worked with regional and national insurance companies selling large and small employer benefits and wellness programs.
Ron has a B.S in Public Health and Health Administration from Indiana University. In his free time Ron enjoys running, biking, and exercising with his family.
John drives strategic sales at Bloom Health, working with large-sized businesses in all markets.
John joins Bloom after a 26 year career at Aon Hewitt, where he advised employers on the development of innovative benefit designs. As a Principal, John played a key role in developing and advancing the strategic direction for Aon Hewitt’s Health and Benefits consulting practice. John is a nationally recognized expert in employer benefit strategies and has been at the forefront of introducing new concepts to the market. He was member of Aon Hewitt’s Leadership Group, as well as a member of its Large Market Steering Committee.
John has a B.A. in Psychology from Augustana College and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Iowa. He spends his free time watching sports of all kind, reading, and playing golf. He lives in the Chicago area with his wife, two daughters and dog.
Chief Operating Officer
Jim leads corporate development, legal & compliance, service center operations and account management at Bloom.
Jim brings a wealth of experience in operations, strategy and business development from previous executive leadership roles at leading healthcare companies including Acclaris Inc., OptumHealth and Mayo Clinic Health Solutions. Most recently, Jim was Chief Growth Officer at Acclaris, an industry leader in consumer driven health and reimbursement account administration. Jim’s work at Acclaris resulted in two successful product launches for the company in addition to consistent year-over-year growth and increased revenue.
Jim has a B.A. from Concordia University. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 5 years and earned an Army Achievement Medal for outstanding performance in Desert Storm. While away from work, Jim and his family are active community volunteers and are co-founders of the Hits For Huntington’s Annual Charity Event. Jim enjoys spending time with his family at their cabin and supporting his boys in their various activities.
Manny drives strategic sales at Bloom Health, working with large-sized businesses in all markets.
Before joining Bloom, Manny was the Health & Benefits Large Segment Market Manager at the Chicago office of Aon Hewitt, where he advised national employers on developing strategic direction for their health and welfare programs including consumerism, behavior modification and measurement approaches. As a Principal with Aon Hewitt, Manny helped employers understand and respond to the implications of healthcare reform while shaping the strategic direction of Aon Hewitt’s Health and Benefits consulting segment and creating a multi-million dollar market.
Manny has a B.A. in Finance and Spanish from the University of Iowa and an M.B.A. from DePaul University. When he’s not working, Manny enjoys wine tasting, running, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He lives in the Chicago area with his wife, son and daughter.
Sara is responsible for recruiting and retaining the extraordinary team needed to achieve Bloom Health’s mission. Sara brings a wealth of experience to the Bloom Health team having worked in a variety of executive level roles within industry-leading organizations.
Before joining Bloom Health, Sara was the Chief Talent Officer at RedBrick Health, where she oversaw all human resources functions, including organizational effectiveness, leadership development, talent relations and compensation/benefits. Prior to RedBrick, Sara was the Vice President of Human Resources at Spanlink and its spin off, Calabrio, Inc. She was also Vice President, Human Resources at Definity Health. Prior to Definity Health, Sara served as Global HR Generalist and Corporate Recruiter for Cargill.
Sara holds a B.A. in Business Management/Human Resources. During her downtime, Sara enjoys running, boating with family and yoga.
Chief Compliance Officer
Sheri leads all of Bloom’s regulatory and compliance initiatives.
Sheri has deep experience leading regulatory and compliance activities across a variety of industries. With a career spanning over thirty years, she has worked extensively in general corporate law as well as regulatory compliance, for large and small companies. Prior to joining Bloom, she was responsible for State and Federal regulatory compliance for the institutional and retail retirement products areas within Ameriprise Financial Services, including qualified plan product development, state and federal regulatory audits, advertising compliance and privacy matters. Prior to Ameriprise, Sheri was an attorney with the law firm of Henson & Efron.
Sheri graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Mitchell College of Law. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, tennis, going to movies and spending time with her son and partner.
Product & Marketing
Danah leads all of Bloom Health’s Marketing & Communications initiatives and is also responsible for leading Bloom’s Product design and development, from ideation to launch.
Before joining Bloom, Danah held a variety of roles at CIGNA across marketing, sales, and product development. Most recently, as part of the Health Advocacy team she was responsible for research, design, and market launches for CIGNA’s industry leading integrated health and wellness programs.
Danah has a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. Danah spends her free time cheering for the Green Bay Packers or enjoying the outdoors during all seasons at her cabin in Wisconsin.
Head of Finance
Russell (Russ) leads the finance and accounting areas at Bloom Health. He is responsible for all accounting and finance functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and budgeting.
Previous to Bloom, Russ was vice president of financial services at International Dairy Queen, Inc. for 13 years where he oversaw the finance, meeting & travel and facilities management departments. Russ also held controller positions at Firstaff, Inc., Porous Media Corporation and Baker Boy Supply, Inc.
Russ has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota. He is actively involved on the boards of directors of many community organizations. When away from Bloom, Russ enjoys running and spending time with his family
